Suncoast Credit Union donates $25K to enhance Boys & Girls Clubs programs

FORT MYERS, Fla. - eTradeWire -- The Suncoast Credit Union Foundation has donated $25,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County, which will use the grant to enhance the After-school Program and Summer Enrichment Program.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County programs serve approximately 1,400 children and teens annually through neighborhood-, school- and community-based centers. Programs focus on education and career, service and leadership, health and wellness, the arts, and sports and recreation.
"Our programs are high quality, yet still among the most affordable after-school and summer programs in Southwest Florida," said Denise Gergley, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. "That is because of generous individuals, businesses and foundations like Suncoast that believe in our mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens."
Suncoast's grant is its latest investment into Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. In 2025, Suncoast pledged $300,000 to fund construction of The Club Teen Center, a new space at Park Meadows Community Club for members to collaborate with their peers, complete homework, socialize and plan for their future. In July, Suncoast representatives joined community leaders, project partners, donors and Boys & Girls Clubs board members to dedicate the teen center.

"Our Foundation supports programs and people in the communities it serves, and no investment produces a greater return than investing in the bright futures of our children," said Jeffrey Kunberger, executive director of the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation and a board member for Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. "Boys & Girls Clubs has a long history in this community and continues to build momentum. Our team is excited to help lay the foundation for the next generation of leaders."
