Who Is Certified for the November 3 Ballot? OppIntell Publishes an Open Reference of 2026 Nominees
eTradeWire News/10851358
Free CC BY 4.0 dataset links each governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House nominee to the official state election document that lists them. States without a staged official list are marked as gaps rather than filled with guesses.
CHARLESTON, S.C. - eTradeWire -- With the November 3 general election days away, OppIntell, which makes evidence-backed opposition research software for campaigns, party committees, PACs, and consultants, today published an open, source-linked reference of who is certified on the 2026 general-election ballot for governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House. The dataset is free to download as CSV or JSON under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license at oppintell.com/data/2026-certified-nominees
As of October 17, 2026, the dataset lists 400 people (55 for governor, 33 for U.S. Senate, and 312 for U.S. House) drawn from official documents in 23 states. The largest state sets so far are Texas (100 people), New York (61), North Carolina (42), and New Jersey (36), and the 400 rows cite 26 distinct official source documents. Where an office is on a state's 2026 calendar but its official list hasn't been staged, the dataset says so ("not yet certified / not in dataset") and doesn't estimate.

"Voters, reporters, and campaigns of every party deserve the same starting point: the official ballot record. We built this reference so anyone can trace each name back to its source, and we're releasing it openly so it can be checked, cited, and reused," said Lucas Dollarhite, founder of OppIntell.
How the dataset is built:
- Primary documents only. A row is included only if the person appears on a state secretary of state or election-office document certifying the November 3, 2026 general-election ballot, or on that office's official nominee list. Certified write-ins on those documents are included.
- Printed as published. Party is the party printed on the document. A blank means the document printed none. Joint tickets stay as printed.
- Exclusions. Withdrawn, disqualified, retention-question, and runoff rows are left out.
- Not a live scrape. OppIntell rebuilds the dataset when a new official list is staged. The "as of" date is the latest retrieval timestamp among the included rows.
