TankMatcher Publishes Compatibility Reference With Four Worked Pairings for Freshwater Tanks

eTradeWire News/10852183
PORTLAND, Ore. - eTradeWire -- TankMatcher has published a compatibility reference page that shows, for four freshwater pairings, the verdict, minimum tank size and the temperature, pH and general-hardness ranges both fish share.

The reference lists: Betta with Neon Tetra, conditional, minimum 10 gallons, 76–78°F, pH 6.5–7.5, GH 3–10 dGH, with Neon Tetras in a group of at least six and the betta kept alone; Neon Tetra with Cardinal Tetra, conditional, minimum 15 gallons, 75–78°F, pH 6.0–7.2, GH 1–8 dGH, each species in a group of at least six; Betta with Cardinal Tetra, conditional, minimum 15 gallons, 76–82°F, pH 6.5–7.2, GH 3–8 dGH, with Cardinal Tetras in a group of at least six; and Oscar with Neon Tetra, do not mix, minimum 75 gallons, 74–78°F, pH 6.0–7.5, GH 5–10 dGH, because adult Oscars can eat small tetras and are highly territorial.

Each entry is derived from the same compatibility data as TankMatcher's free compatibility checker, which also evaluates adult size and behavioral risks. The reference explains the three verdicts — Compatible, Conditional and Do not mix — and states that the results are a planning screen, not a guarantee: real outcomes depend on the individual fish, tank setup and water conditions.
