A Cache of Stolen Fate Magazines. Two Missing Parents. One Journalist Who Won't Stop Asking
eTradeWire News/10852309
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - eTradeWire -- In this new mystery-thriller series, "conspiracy theorist" Cayce Leighton's relentless pursuit of answers has cost her a journalism career, earned her a mountain of enemies, and done absolutely nothing to discourage her insatiable need to expose what she suspects is being deliberately hidden from her.
At sixteen, Cassandra "Cayce" Leighton kept a secret stash of unreturned Fate magazines filled with improbable mysteries respectable adults dismissed without proper investigation.
Then her parents vanished.
Twenty years later, Cayce's borderline-compulsive investigations have taken a dangerous turn. After ignoring her editor's warnings and pursuing a major pharmaceutical cover-up, she is disgraced, broke, and forced back to Wulamallsink, the Delaware River Valley town she once fled.
It is also the town where her parents' supposedly voluntary disappearance was never satisfactorily explained.
Now unemployed, publicly humiliated, and branded a conspiracy theorist by people she once respected, Cayce accepts a position at the local library under a supervisor who considers questioning authority an act of insubordination of libraric proportion.

But Cayce lives in a world where convenient explanations rarely stay buried.
What others dismiss as conspiracy, she considers a demand for investigation. As she is fond of pointing out, uncovering a conspiracy is very different from inventing one.
The Cayce Leighton Investigations follows Cayce through concealed agendas, distorted histories, and the uncomfortable territory between what people are told to believe and what a stubborn, flawed investigator can actually establish. Each case challenges her understanding of humanity—and herself.
The series opens with REDACTED, which pairs Cayce with an unlikely group of companions. Jenna's relentless optimism often leads to unexpected breakthroughs. Simon, an infuriatingly attractive software expert and participant in Cayce's still-embarrassing prom-night history, brings equal parts technical brilliance and opposition. Jenna's former love interest, Luke, adds muscle, loyalty, and an inconvenient amount of protectiveness.
Their clashing personalities bring humor to increasingly serious investigations.
In REDACTED, Cayce's search for answers leads into a web of corporate and government secrecy, concealed biological experimentation, historical injustices involving Indigenous communities, and the human cost of secrets protected across generations.

The introductory novel is complete and available for literary representation and publishing consideration. Book two, RESIDUAL NOISE, follows Cayce into an investigation involving manipulation of human behavior through electromagnetic frequencies and covert technologies.
