Kval introduces the Stinger automatic stop stitcher
eTradeWire News/10851958
New flow-through stop stitcher fastens door stop to jambs and headers at up to 8 jambs per minute per side, with no changeover between lengths or stop styles.
PETALUMA, Calif. - eTradeWire -- Kval, a U.S. manufacturer of door machinery since 1947, today introduced the Stinger, a high-production automatic stop stitcher for interior jambs. The Stinger fastens door stop to jambs and headers in one continuous, flow-through pass, giving pre-hung door shops more output and a more consistent reveal with less handling.
How it works
The operator sets the jamb and stop against the end points on the shelf and presses the foot pedal. The Stinger aligns the two parts, applies the programmed fastening pattern and power-feeds the assembly through the machine. Finished assemblies exit automatically onto a racking system, staged in order and ready to move to a cart.
The machine references the top of the jamb for alignment, so stop placement stays consistent even when jambs vary.

Built for throughput
- Up to 8 jambs per minute, per side. The left and right sides run independently and at the same time, each with its own operator.
- No changeover. Different jamb and header lengths, and square-cut or mitered stops, need no machine adjustment.
- Quick pattern changes. A touch screen sets fastener spacing, machine settings, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Fast reveal conversions between 1-3/8" and 1-3/4" doors.
- Low fastener indicator warns the operator before fasteners run out.
- Brad nailers or staplers, to match each shop's fastening standard.
"Stop stitching is one of the most repetitive steps in a pre-hung line, and it's where small inconsistencies show up in the finished door. We built the Stinger so a shop can run two operators side by side, switch jamb lengths and stop styles without touching the machine, and get the same reveal every time."
