A story about kindness and being yourself marks a major milestone for Charleston's family-owned World of Kids Books.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - eTradeWire -- Patch Work: Bee Brave. Bee Kind. Bee You., written by Craig
Conover, illustrated by Maine Diaz, and published by World of Kids Books, is an instant New York Times
and USA Today bestseller. Following its October 13 release, the book debuted at No. 6 on the New
York Times Children's Picture Books list and No. 86 on USA Today's overall list.
Inspired by Conover's experience pursuing his passion for sewing despite criticism, Patch Work
encourages children ages 4-8 to embrace their differences, stand up for others, and find the courage to
be themselves.
"With Patch Work: Bee Brave. Bee Kind. Bee You. I wanted to create a story that reminds children that
the things that make them different are also what make them special," Conover told PEOPLE. "My hope is

that kids feel seen when they read it and that it encourages them to be a little braver, a little kinder, and
proud to be exactly who they are."
The achievement marks a milestone for World of Kids Books, the independent Charleston publisher
owned by Hillary and Scott Keller, parents of four.
"Craig's story has so much heart, and we believed it could make a difference for kids," said Hillary Keller,
Publisher of World of Kids Books. "Seeing it become a bestseller is an incredible moment for our small
team and everyone who helped bring it to life."
The launch includes a national book tour and school visits. Companion educator toolkits, developed with
bullying prevention expert Dr. Chad A. Rose and a team of education and counseling professionals,
extend the book's message through classroom lessons, activities, and family resources.
Patch Work is available wherever books are sold.
