AKCP Extends sensorProbe+ Operating Temperature to -25°C for Industrial Applications
eTradeWire News/10753375
AKCP, a leading provider of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions, announced the release of an industrial operating temperature option for the sensorProbe+. This new option extends the operating temperature range of the sensorProbe+ to -25°C, making it ideal for use in harsh environments such as Northern and Southern latitudes and the cold chain storage industry.
SAN FRANCISCO - eTradeWire -- The sensorProbe+ is AKCP's flagship series of base units, comprising the SP1+, SP2+ and SPX+ devices. These devices are used extensively around the world for sensor monitoring in data centers, telecoms, factories, warehouses and remote sites. The sensorProbe+ is known for its robust design and industry-leading MTBF of 10,950,000 hours.
"The introduction of this new industrial operating temperature option expands the versatility of our sensorProbe+ platform," said Nick Barrowclough, President at AKCP. "This enhancement will allow our customers to deploy our monitoring solutions in a wider range of environments, including those with extreme cold temperatures."

An example of a recent project that required the new sensorProbe+ devices is the monitoring of wellheads in harsh Canadian winters. This project demanded a robust, low-powered, and reliable device that could withstand extreme cold temperatures. The SPX+ with the industrial operating temperature option was the perfect solution for this project.
The sensorProbe+ devices are fully SNMP compliant and include industry-standard communication protocols such as MQTT, MQTTS (https://www.akcp.com/blog/scaling-mqtt-network-...), Modbus RTU, and TCP/IP for integration with third-party monitoring and management platforms. In addition, AKCP offers a fully featured sensor management platform of their own, AKCPro Server (https://www.akcp.com/akcp-products/akcpro-server/), which is tightly integrated with their sensorProbe+ and sensor solutions.
