Announcing Z5 Inventory's 50 For 50 Program.
Health care supply chain startup Z5 Inventory pledges to donate $5000 for every $5 Million its partner hospitals save in 2020.

AUSTIN, Texas - eTradeWire -- To encourage hospitals to save money by preventing supply expiration, health care inventory management company Z5 Inventory is announcing the creation of its 50 For 50 program. Z5 is challenging its hospital partners to save $50 Million in 2020, pledging to donate $5000 to charity for every $5 Million its partner hospitals save by avoiding the cost incurred by medical and surgical supplies expiration.

Hospitals in the United States throw away at least $5 Billion worth of medical product annually, according to data accumulated from hundreds of inventory valuations Z5 Inventory has performed over the last five years. This cost can be prevented by using Z5's predictive analytics to identify and reallocate excess before expiration.

"These donations exist purely to celebrate our customers' success in better serving their communities," said Carl Natenstedt, CEO and Co-Founder of Z5 Inventory, "and because we, as a company, are dedicated to giving back to communities in need."

Z5 Inventory has previously partnered with international aid organizations such as Cherish Uganda and Project C.U.R.E. to deliver medical supplies to communities that would not have otherwise had access to it.

Beneficiaries of the 50 For 50 program will be chosen from charities nominated online. Health care workers and nonprofits themselves are encouraged to submit their favorite 501(c)(3) via Z5Inventory.com/50for50. One charity will be drawn from the collected list to receive a $5000 donation at each $5 Million savings milestone.

"This is not just about supporting the positive changes these charities are working so hard for. When hospitals prevent products from expiring, they're able to reduce the amount of waste in landfills and lower their cost of care," Mr. Natenstedt pointed out. "The more hospitals participate in 50 For 50, the more good they can do for their patients and the world."
