Why It Is Important for Your Medical Office Design to Be Accessible
eTradeWire News/10618981
TORONTO - eTradeWire -- There are a lot of things to think about and consider when designing a medical practice. Some things that you need to think about are; the efficiency of the reception area, the effect the colour schemes will have on people coming into the office, and how patients will be able to get inside. We are going to explain why having an accessible medical office design is important.
Address a Variety of Disabilities
It is important to remember that not all disabilities are visible, making it so that there are many different ones to consider. When you are designing your medical office, important things to think about are accessibility for people in wheelchairs, visually impaired people, lower cognitive functioning people, and so on and so forth.
If someone is visually impaired, this means that navigating simple places can be hard to do. Adding braille signs by doors and down hallways will help people with visual impairments to move around more easily and more confidently. The same thing goes for anyone with a hearing impairment. Clear and precise signs that give clear direction, along with lighting cues for emergencies are extremely helpful to patients with these sorts of disabilities and will ensure that every single patient will be safe.
