What is acrylic and why use it for your awards?
eTradeWire News/10778325
SQUAMISH, British Columbia - eTradeWire -- As you might have guessed, at Modern Acrylic Awards, the primary material used for all of our designs is acrylic. There are countless benefits to working with acrylic and the material has allowed us to produce plenty of unique and modern awards and trophies. But, what exactly is acrylic and why should you consider it when organizing the trophies for your next award ceremony or employee recognition gifts?
What is acrylic?
Acrylic - also known as plexiglass - is a strong plastic that has a wide variety of benefits and uses. Available in all sorts of shapes and sizes, the material is known for its strength and durability and is also available in a wide selection of colors. Such versatility makes it a great material to work with.
What are the benefits of working with acrylic?
As highlighted above, acrylic is hugely versatile, which makes it ideal for crafting awards. At Modern Acrylic Awards, we love to make vibrant and visually appealing works of art and so using a material that is available in a variety of colors and that can easily be printed on allows us to achieve our stunning and unique designs. Shatter resistant, flexible and cost effective, acrylic is both durable and safe - meaning it is an ideal option for products that will be displayed as ornaments.

What are the differences between acrylic and glass awards?
As acrylic is shatter resistant and flexible, it is much stronger than glass and therefore far more unlikely to break. Glass on the other hand is extremely delicate so is not a durable material to use when creating awards and even has the potential to be dangerous if broken. The transparent properties of acrylic still enable awards to look like glass - and we apply diamond polishing to our designs to enhance this aesthetic.
What style of award can be produced using acrylic?
Acrylic has the potential to be styled into a wide range of exhilarating and contemporary awards.
You can check out our blog: Which acrylic award is right for you and your business? (https://www.modernacrylicawards.com/blog/which-acrylic-award-is-right-for-you-and-your-business) to explore a handy guide that breaks down our various collections, and picks out some of our favorites.
