Scholarship Recognizes Outstanding Achievement And Participation In danceLogic
PHILADELPHIA - eTradeWire -- West Park Cultural Center (WPCC) a Philadelphia nonprofit organization that uses arts and culture as a central tool in programs that help youth tap into their creative and academic potential, is excited to announce the creation of the Cheryl Anna Bostic-Athias (CABA) Scholarship and a yearly Recognition Award celebrating outstanding student accomplishments.
The CABA Scholarship will become a new addition to the organization's danceLogic program, combining dance and computer coding for girls and young ladies aged ten and up. Co-creators of danceLogic, computer science engineer Franklyn Athias and WPCC executive director Betty Lindley, will formally launch this addition to the program starting in 2023.
"My late wife was born and raised in West Philadelphia and programs like West Park helped her and ultimately led her to UPenn. She loved the danceLogic program and the potential opportunities it enabled. The CABA scholarship was a perfect way to help the young ladies in West Philadelphia and to also remember her." - Franklyn Athias
