Waterside Productions Announces New Book "The Redhead in the Cove"

CARDIFF BY THE SEA, Calif. - eTradeWire -- A new mystery novel, THE REDHEAD IN THE COVE, is arousing reader attention for the uniqueness of its authorship—a grandfather-grandson collaboration, it was announced here by publisher Bill Gladstone of Waterside Productions.

The book's authors are Scott Addeo Young, a recent graduate of UC Santa Barbara and now a California writer with numerous articles under his belt, and his grandfather, Edmond G. Addeo, noted author of four novels and eight non-fiction books.

"Scott told me over dinner one night that he wanted to write a novel and I was between projects and suggested we do one together," said grandfather Ed. "He jumped at the idea."

"Writing a mystery novel set in San Francisco was a dream," said grandson Scott. "Growing up in the Bay Area, it was important we make the San Francisco setting feel like a living character itself, as well as inhabit it with the many types of characters common in the city."

"We worked it so Scott wrote the young people involved and I wrote the wizened old detective and his cop friend," laughed the older author. "Hell, I didn't even know who Van Halen was."

"The book is a real page-turner and we're hoping it gets the national attention it deserves," Gladstone added.

The theme of the book is that a young nurse is found drowned in the cove next to the San Francisco Giants' baseball stadium—except she didn't drown. There is no water in her lungs, the autopsy shows. When all evidence points to a veteran SFPD cop who was having an affair with the dead nurse, he calls on his old friend and ex-partner, now a private investigator, to do his own snooping and hopefully exonerate his friend.
