Voter Suppression Antidote: "Grab 'em by the Postcard" Online Campaign Launches

eTradeWire News/10588507
Powerful, "final stretch" e-postcarding campaign inspires souls and ignites consciences.

ATLANTA - eTradeWire -- Grab 'em by the Postcard, the new kid on the postcarding block, was just launched as a limited-time, virtual campaign designed to help you uplift, inspire, and motivate apathetic and undecided voters in your network. Launched earlier this week, GrabByThePostcard.com allows people to personalize a variety of vibrant, powerful postcard designs and send digitally to family and friends in this final stretch to Election Day— for free.

Miesha Tate Ander, a black brand designer with a career spanning 20 years out of New York City, is the creator behind Grab 'em by the Postcard. Ander, originally from Selma, AL, was initially inspired by her mom's activism and postcard writing. She explains, "My original intention was to design one postcard, print a small batch, and distribute to my immediate network, but my conscience kept nudging me differently." By creating a virtual platform, Ander was able to expand on the concept and make it accessible to everyone through Election day.

This project was extremely important for Ander, who believes that beyond red or blue are the colors of resilience, courage, empathy— of humanity. She wanted to create something that would empower and uplift marginalized groups, cautiously undecided voters, and those affected most by voter suppression. "It's for anyone who may feel broken right about now," she said. "There are forces out there hoping you stay home from too many obstacles or not enough to believe in. I want you to get one of these postcards and instantly embrace the notion that all you need to feel strongest about, is you." Ander continues, "Your worth, the greatness within you and the audacity to claim that… the beauty in the courage and boldness it takes to go against the grain... that sort of thing." She continues, "I want people to feel a sense of 'badassary' and be on the verge of a feel-good ugly cry all the way to the polls if they receive one of these e-postcards."
