Veteran Joe Earley Calls Out Travis Kelce

eTradeWire News/10760608
Rich Football Players should not be getting energy tax credits from the flawed Inflation Reduction Act to film movies at the expense of the American Taxpayer.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - eTradeWire -- Today Veteran and Republican Congressional candidate Joe Earley (R-WV2), called out Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce for using renewable energy tax credits to finance his movie "My Dead Friend Zoe."

"If Travis wants to make a movie, he should either use his own money or ask Taylor for a loan," said Earley.

The so-called Inflation Reduction Act had many provisions on climate change and environmental justice.  It also included federal green energy tax credits which are now being used by Travis Kelce and his partners to make movies.  The tax credits were to encourage the development and adoption of clean energy technologies.  The law allows these tax credits to be transferred. The loophole enables renewable project owners to sell tax credits for cash. One of Kelce's partners is an investor in green energy projects.

Kelce is the executive producer of a dark comedy film called "My Dead Friend Zoe" which is set to premiere in March.

"How does making a film help the environment?  It doesn't!" said Earley.  "These tax credits are being abused to enrich the rich.  Travis is cutting down his risks in making a movie and shifting the risk to the taxpayers.  How can he do that in good conscience?"

"The Inflation Reduction Act was sold to the American people as a way to help lighten their financial burdens.  It has not!  We are still paying high prices at the pump and at the grocery store.  Now we find out that multi-millionaires are getting special tax credits to fund projects to make them wealthier while sticking the bill to the taxpayers.  Kelce has failed the American taxpayer and clean energy," said Earley.

"As the next Congressman, I am repealing these tax credits," promised Earley.
