Trump Administration Accused of Burying Filmed Musical on Streaming Platforms
eTradeWire News/10803341
Dictator For A Day Delayed Due to Pro-Sanders Singing and Unauthorized Fabulousness [SATIRE]
MANHATTAN, N.Y. - eTradeWire -- Hailed as "the greatest threat to authoritarianism since Hamilton," the long-delayed musical satire Dictator For A Day is still missing from major streaming platforms.
Filmed in October 2024—just ahead of the presidential election and shortly after democracy's metaphorical funeral rehearsal—the show was scheduled to premiere on Amazon, Roku, and "select non-surveilled devices." But insiders now claim the Trump administration pressured platforms to delay the release, citing national security concerns, poor polling, and several "deeply problematic" scenes.
Top among those scenes: comedian J-L Cauvin's portrayal of Trump giving a chaotic jailhouse interview in an orange jumpsuit, a commencement speech at "Trump University," and an unhinged Act Two monologue where he declares himself Dictator for a Day and vows revenge on his enemies.
Despite—or because of—the controversy, the show has earned glowing praise. Broadway Radio's Peter Filichia called Cauvin's performance "one that demands to be seen." Punk legend Marky Ramone hailed it as "the best musical comedy since The Producers!" and Dirty Dancing's Franke Previte called it "brilliantly written and hilarious."

Even off-the-record Hamilton insiders have praised the show—quietly—fearing Trump might retaliate by rewriting Hamilton as The Art of the Spiel, starring Kid Rock.
Sharing the spotlight is Broadway's Rory Scholl, who plays a singing, dancing Trump. His antics include tap-dancing with showgirls, hawking "Trump Babies" and "Trump Cards" as Mike Lindell, and pleading with audiences to "give me a little immunity" before the election begins. Impersonator Sammy "The Deuce" Kassin adds sharp comedic edge throughout.
The administration reportedly also objected to the show's portrayal of Bernie Sanders, who sings "Let's Get Rid of the Billionaires," and worried it might falsely suggest Trump is an LGBTQ+ ally.
Cauvin, known for his viral Trump impressions, called the delay "proof this is the most dangerous musical since Cats." He added, "We knew we were in trouble when Homeland Security tried to waterboard our piano player."
A Broadway run is still planned for late 2025—if theaters survive the rise of Guy Fieri-branded NFT malls.
