The company has announced a comprehensive update to its policies, taking a zero-tolerance stance against online harassment, abuse, and the spread of all kinds of misinformation.
Online harassment, abuse, and the spread of misinformation and negativity have become serious issues affecting social media and online spaces. The consequences go far beyond just unpleasant experiences, with real-world effects on mental health. As a platform centered on bringing people together through positive shared interests, Tribel wants to provide an environment that is free from toxicity. Hence, the company has implemented strong policies to create a refreshing online space that is safe for users.

"Creating a welcoming online space for people to connect over their passions and interests is core to our mission," said a representative of Tribel. "We simply will not allow abuse, harassment, or misinformation of any kind to proliferate on our platform." The updated policies clearly prohibit all forms of bullying, hate speech, explicit threats, and other abusive behavior targeting individuals or groups. Users found violating these rules face swift account suspensions or permanent bans from Tribel.
Additionally, the policies establish new guidelines around misinformation. Posts or comments containing verifiably false or misleading information across any subject - including COVID-19, politics, social issues, religion, and more - will be promptly removed. Accounts repeatedly propagating misinformation may be restricted, suspended, or removed completely.
"Misinformation is a menace on the internet, eroding trust and doing real-world harm. At Tribel, we're committed to cultivating an online community built on honesty, facts, and mutual understanding. We want people to feel safe being themselves and sharing their true interests on Tribel without fear of abuse or being misled. These new policies, coupled with strong moderation, will help make that possible," said the Community Manager at Tribel.
