Train Sim Highlights Player-Focused Development Without Loot Boxes or Aggressive Monetization
eTradeWire News/10831337
The long-running mobile train simulator, developed for more than ten years, continues to expand with new trains, environments, and features while avoiding aggressive monetization practices.
CALGARY, Alberta - eTradeWire -- The long-running mobile train simulator continues to grow with new trains, environments, and features designed around player enjoyment rather than monetization systems.
Calgary, AB, March 10, 2026. Train Sim, the mobile train simulator developed by independent developer 3583 Bytes, continues to evolve with new trains, environments, and gameplay features while maintaining a design philosophy that avoids many of the aggressive monetization practices common in modern mobile games.
Originally created as a personal project for a train-obsessed child, Train Sim has grown over more than ten years into a widely played mobile train simulator while remaining focused on accessibility, straightforward gameplay, and a player-first design approach.
Over time, Train Sim has expanded to include more than 80 trains across 15 different environments. The game features cabin views, derailments, simple driving controls, and tools that allow players to customize their environments and experiment with different trains and railway scenarios.

Rather than building systems around monetization mechanics, development has focused on adding features that give players more freedom to explore and enjoy the simulation experience.
"Train Sim originally started as a game I built for my own train-obsessed child," said Adam Berent, creator of Train Sim and founder of 3583 Bytes. "Because of that, I never wanted the game to rely on mechanics that pressure players into spending money. Instead of designing systems around monetization, I have always focused on adding trains, environments, and features that simply make the simulation more enjoyable."
Unlike many modern mobile titles, Train Sim deliberately avoids mechanics such as loot boxes, random reward systems, pay-to-win upgrades, and multiple in-game currencies designed to obscure real prices. This approach has allowed development to remain focused on expanding gameplay features and improving the overall simulator experience.
Train Sim is designed to be approachable for players of all ages and experience levels. Its intuitive interface allows new players to begin driving quickly, while the wide range of trains and environments provides flexibility and variety for players who want to experiment, explore, and enjoy railway simulation at their own pace.
