eTradeWire News/10770814
ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, Nova Scotia - eTradeWire -- Maureen Horne-Paul is excited to introduce the latest culinary sensation, poke, to Nova Scotia with the opening of The Poke Bowl in Annapolis Royal. This new dining establishment is the first of its kind in Nova Scotia, perfectly aligning with the burgeoning healthy and gluten free eating movements.

Poke (pronounced Pokay) a dish traditionally rooted in Hawaiian cuisine, consists of diced proteins like fish, chicken or tofu, served over rice with fresh greens, and garnished with vegetables and flavourful sauces. The concept evolved from Hawaiian fishermen seasoning the cut-offs from their catch to serve as a snack. Today, poke bowls encompass a variety of ingredients including seafood, wholesome greens, and exotic seasonings, offering a customizable and nutritious meal option.

At The Poke Bowl, the focus is on freshness and local sourcing. "We are proud to partner with local producers such as Whippletree Farms for our greens, Robicheaud & Sons in Middleton for fresh salmon, and other local suppliers for our vegetables," says owner-operator Maureen Horne-Paul. "It's all about bringing the freshest and the best of Nova Scotia to our customers' tables."
