ST. LOUIS - eTradeWire -- Rail fans from across the region are invited to experience a rare railroad event as The National Museum of Transportation, home to Union Pacific Big Boy #4006, hosts a Big Boy Watch Party on Monday, July 20, in anticipation of the pass-by of the legendary Union Pacific Big Boy #4014.
Few places in the country offer the opportunity to see two Big Boys at one time. Guests will be able to visit the Museum's permanently displayed Big Boy #4006 while awaiting the arrival of the world's largest operating steam locomotive, Big Boy #4014, as it passes the Museum along Union Pacific's main line. The locomotive is expected to pass by the Museum at approximately 10:15 a.m.
"This is an opportunity that is simply not that common," said Terri McEachern, Executive Director of The National Museum of Transportation. "Whether you're a lifelong railfan or introducing a new generation to the wonder of steam railroading, seeing two Big Boys in one place is a memorable experience you won't want to miss."

Regular Museum admission applies. Please note that the only parking available for guests is in the William R. and Laura Rand Orthwein Education & Visitor Center parking lot.
The National Museum of Transportation is located at 2933 Barrett Station Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122, and is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through Labor Day.
