Bold Films, Real Voices: We Regret To Inform Film Festival is back!
AUSTIN, Texas - eTradeWire -- The We Regret To Inform You (WRTIY) Film Festival proudly announces the return of its third annual celebration of bold, boundary-pushing, and independent cinema. The festival will take place October 24–26, 2025, at the EP Event Center in Austin, Texas.
Founded by actor and filmmaker Grayson Berry, WRTIY continues to champion audacious storytelling and emerging talent. The event provides a dynamic platform for filmmakers to showcase their work, engage in meaningful dialogue, and receive valuable, constructive feedback in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
This year's festival promises exciting new additions, including a major expansion of its popular "Student Saturday" segment. Berry explains,
"We were so impressed with last year's student submissions that we knew we had to grow this part of the festival. This year, we're inviting young filmmakers aged 13–20, including group projects, to participate. The creativity and originality coming from these students is truly inspiring."

Past participants have praised the festival for its authenticity and support of true indie voices:
Filmmaker Brian Nguyen (PAPER PLATES) shared,
"There need to be more festivals like this—ones that genuinely give independent films a chance. The passionate Q&A afterward was the highlight of my weekend."
Award-winning actress Colleen Mooney added,
"What a great weekend! The hosts were so welcoming and curated the event perfectly."
Jeanette Greenwood, founder of Ladies in Film & Television and award-winning filmmaker (ZOOMzilla), said, "This festival was so unique! I loved how our film was spotlighted—it made us feel seen and valued. As an indie creator, I felt BIG!"
Festival co-founder and filmmaker Thomas Ryan Ward encouraged filmmakers to submit early: "Submissions are now open, and we're already seeing some incredible entries. Grayson and I are especially excited for what's to come. Early bird discounts are currently available, so we urge filmmakers to visit our website or FilmFreeway before our schedule fills up."
