The J's Semi-Annual Used Book Sale Returns Aug. 23–27, 2026
eTradeWire News/10839438
ST. LOUIS - eTradeWire -- Thousands of affordable titles—plus book-club multiples and media—help St. Louis readers stock their shelves, stretch their budgets, and rediscover the joy of browsing.
When you want something new to read, you usually have to choose between spending more than you planned or scrolling endlessly online and hoping a title clicks. The J's Semi-Annual Used Book Sale is the antidote: five days to browse thousands of books across genres, grab high-value finds at used-book prices, and walk out with a stack that fits your life right now—whether that's "I need a great vacation novel," "I'm building a home library," "my kids need books," or "our book club needs multiple copies."
The Summer Used Book Sale runs Sunday, August 23 through Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the St. Louis Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur (Staenberg Family Complex).
Readers can expect an especially broad selection, including fiction and nonfiction across mystery, novels, biography, politics, religion, sports, cookbooks, history, animals, art, science, science fiction, business, gardening, poetry, psychology, self-help, humor, foreign languages, and more. Families, educators, and homeschoolers will also find a large selection of children's and youth books and educational materials.

The J hosts Used Book Sales twice each year (January and August), and the August sale is one of the region's most anticipated opportunities for readers to browse widely, try something new, and leave with a "next-read" pile that matches their interests and budget.
