Nonprofit Continues to Dramatically Expand Housing Options for Low- and Moderate-Income Families

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - eTradeWire -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership (The Housing Partnership) is celebrating 30 years of leadership in revitalizing and strengthening Charlotte's communities. From the late 1980s to today, the organization has created stable and healthy communities in nearly a dozen of Charlotte's historic neighborhoods including Druid Hills, Seversville, Greenville and the Statesville Avenue Corridor.

To commemorate this milestone, The Housing Partnership is hosting a 30th Anniversary luncheon, presented by Bank of America, at the Westin Charlotte Hotel on Wednesday, October 23, at 11:30 a.m.

The nonprofit was organized in 1988 to expand housing options for low- and moderate-income families in Mecklenburg County and to create partnerships that empower individuals to achieve economic independence. In addition to building affordable housing communities, The Housing Partnership offers down payment assistance, homebuyer education and financial literacy resources for qualified individuals. Since inception, it has addressed the lack of affordable housing by providing more than 3,000 rental homes, creating over 4,100 new homeowners and revitalizing nine neighborhoods across Mecklenburg County.
