The Gold Standard: Munns & Oswald Launch 2028 Olympic Campaign

U.S. 470 National Champions Set Course for the Los Angeles Olympic Trials
MIAMI - eTradeWire -- American sailors Micky Munns and Cadance Oswald have officially launched their campaign for the 2028 Olympic Games, setting their sights on gold in the mixed dinghy event. Fresh off victories at the 2024 U.S. 470 Nationals and the 2025 Midwinter Championship, the duo has established themselves as contenders for Team USA.
With Olympic qualification demanding full-time training, international competition, and cutting-edge equipment, Munns and Oswald are seeking corporate sponsors and individual donors to support their journey. Unlike many of their international competitors, who receive full government funding, American sailors rely solely on fundraising efforts to compete at the highest level.
"Winning Olympic gold isn't just our dream—it's a mission to bring American sailing back to the top," said Munns. "We are training full-time, racing against the best in the world, and doing everything it takes to qualify for the Games. But we can't do it alone."

The Road to the 2028 Olympics
To secure a spot in Los Angeles, Munns and Oswald must place in the top 18 at the 2027 World Championships and win the 2028 U.S. Olympic Trials. Their rigorous campaign includes training with renowned coach Yevgeniy Burmatnov, competing in high-stakes regattas worldwide, and continually refining their physical and technical skills.
How to Support Team MO470
Munns and Oswald have partnered with the Windmark Sailing Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, making all contributions tax-deductible. Thanks to Windmark's 50% matching program, every dollar donated goes even further in fueling their Olympic dream.
Sponsorship opportunities include logo placement on sails and team gear, media exposure, and exclusive availability at corporate events. Donations directly contribute to training, equipment, and travel costs, making a tangible impact on Team MO470's journey to gold.
