The Future is Bright in Mustang: William Tate and OKC Elite Dominate Prep Redzone OK Open
eTradeWire News/10834111
While the 2031 collegiate signing day is still years away, the scouts and fans of Oklahoma high school football are already buzzing about a name that seems destined for Saturday afternoons: William "Will" Tate.
OKLAHOMA CITY - eTradeWire -- The Mustang native has been a consistent standout on the youth circuit, but his performance this past weekend at the Prep Redzone OK Open signaled something more than just "potential." Representing OKC Elite—widely regarded as the premier 7v7 program in Oklahoma and a heavyweight on the national stage—Tate didn't just compete; he orchestrated a masterclass in efficiency and playmaking.
A Statistical Anomaly
In the fast-paced, high-scoring world of 7v7 football, numbers can sometimes be inflated. However, what Tate and the OKC Elite 14U squad accomplished was statistically staggering. The team captured the 14U Division Championship, but their dominance transcended their age bracket. By the end of the tournament, OKC Elite had scored more points and secured a larger point differential than any other team in the tournament, regardless of division or age group.

At the center of this offensive juggernaut was Will Tate. His final stat line read like a video game on "Rookie" mode:
Tate showed a rare "two-way" instinct that is becoming his trademark. Offensively, his route running and ability to find the soft spots in coverage made him a nightmare for opposing defensive backs. Defensively, his three interceptions proved that he possesses the high-level football IQ necessary to bait quarterbacks and close on the ball with elite speed.
The Power of the Program
While Tate's individual numbers jumped off the page, he was quick to credit the synergy of the OKC Elite roster. 7v7 is a game of rhythm and chemistry, and the 14U squad functioned like a well-oiled machine.
Standout performances from Ryker Johnson, Ethan Truss, Arin Baker, and Brandon Woods ensured that defenses couldn't simply double-team Tate. This "four-headed monster" of skill players allowed the offense to stretch the field vertically and horizontally, leaving opponents with no viable schematic answer. The defensive cohesion, led by the same group, was equally stifling, as evidenced by the record-breaking point differential.
