The Fight Continues: A Response to the Overturning of Roe v. Wade
eTradeWire News/10688269
HOUSTON - eTradeWire -- The Shades of Blue Project stands in solidarity with you all on today's Supreme Court's decision to reverse Roe v. Wade. While this is a blow to women's rights, we will continue to stand and fight for Black and Brown birthing individuals.
Our dedication to the mental wellbeing of the mothers and birthing individuals impacted by this decision still stands. And we will continue to serve them just as we have over the past years, especially with the passage of SB8 in Texas.
Based on our work within communities already detrimentally affected by the pandemic and SB8, we know the livelihoods and mental wellbeing of Black and Brown mothers will only worsen because of this decision. And we can expect the already high number of Black maternal morbidity cases to rise locally and nationally.

Still, we remain committed to this fight.
We will continue to support our communities nationwide.
We will continue to work with organizations that see this decision as the travesty it is and work to restore the fundamental human right to bodily autonomy.
Today we mourn.
Tomorrow the fight continues.
