WEYMOUTH, Mass. - eTradeWire -- The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities, is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Sandblom of Scituate, Massachusetts, as Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, she provides leadership and direction to achieve the multi-service agency's goals and objectives. Her responsibilities include managing the executive team, overseeing business and financial operations, developing policies and programs, coordinating staff, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local laws and regulations.

Sandblom brings extensive experience in managing diverse teams and overseeing operations. Before joining The Arc of the South Shore, she spent 30 years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, starting as a service coordinator and ultimately rising to the rank of Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Operations in the Department of Developmental Services.

Proficient in American Sign Language, Sandblom is an Ambassador for LifeCourse Initiatives, championing person and family-centered practices and contributing to meaningful change within organizations and communities.

Sandblom, a resident of Scituate, Massachusetts, is a graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

The Arc of the South Shore (The Arc) was founded in 1951 when a group of individuals created a school for children with disabilities. Then, in 1967, The Arc was deeded property at Webb State Park in Weymouth; the space gave the agency a permanent home and the opportunity to expand.
