About the Founder
The R.I.C.E Awards began fourteen years ago by philanthropist, radio personality and relationship strategist Dr. C Chandon Carter. Carter started his career in promotions and sales in college promoting events. After graduation this Chicago native and University of Alabama alum wanted to create a platform that highlighted the people who worked very hard taking care of others. People who unselfishly gave without money or recognition. Since the inception of the R.I.C.E Awards it has been proven that these types of people exist in communities everywhere and for one night all eyes are on them. Dr. C Chandon Carter and The RICE Foundation's mission for the awards show is simple. "We honor the unsung heroes of the community", said Carter.
