Support CCAE Foundation's Continued Leadership of California Center for the Arts
eTradeWire News/10784319
ESCONDIDO, Calif. - eTradeWire -- The California Center for the Arts, Escondido (CCAE), which opened its doors in 1994, has become a cornerstone of cultural enrichment and artistic expression for Escondido and the surrounding communities. Under the leadership of the CCAE Foundation, the Center has delivered world-class performances, educational programs, and community-driven events that have impacted thousands of lives.
The City of Escondido has opened an RFP to explore potential entities to provide programming, operation, and management services for the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. This decision could lead to the replacement of the CCAE Foundation, which has successfully managed the Center for three decades and recently completed its strongest financial year, with an outside private organization. Such a change could allow the new organization to run the publicly funded city buildings for private gain, potentially disrupting the long-standing legacy of the CCAE Foundation's contributions to the local community.
"We believe the California Center for the Arts is not just buildings but a vital part of our community's identity. For the last 30 years, the CCAE Foundation has worked tirelessly to provide unparalleled access to the arts, education, and cultural programming for the people of Escondido. It would be tragic if Escondido no longer had a 4th of July Festival, Música en la Plaza, Día de los Muertos or any of the many free events we provide each year but we are confident that with the support of our community, we can continue our mission and make the arts accessible for future generations," said Gina Lopez, Chief Executive Officer of the CCAE In the coming weeks, the CCAE Foundation will be encouraging community members to take action to secure its future and voice their support for the CCAE Foundation to continue managing the Center. The future of the Center is in the hands of the community, and your voice can make a difference.
