ST. LOUIS - eTradeWire -- The St. Louis Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) has concluded a successful year marked by significant growth, impactful initiatives, and strong member engagement.

"2024 was an incredible year for the St. Louis Chapter," said Beverly Garner, outgoing Chapter President. "Our success is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of our members and sponsors."

Key Highlights of 2024:
  • Strong Sponsor Partnerships: The Chapter welcomed inaugural Platinum Sponsors Lewis Rice and McMahon Berger and added new sponsors Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith and Shook Hardy & Bacon. A dedicated Sponsorship Committee, led by Susan Bassford-Wilson, enhanced sponsor engagement through improved communication and a new electronic registration platform.
  • Member-Focused Initiatives:
    • Pro Bono Efforts: Members volunteered at Operation Food Search and provided legal assistance at estate planning clinics for veterans. Over the years, Chapter members have supported 11 clinics at which members assisted with the preparation and execution of over 900 estate planning documents and provided pro bono services valued at approximately $450,500.
    • Diversity & Inclusion: The Chapter launched a successful summer internship program for law students from underrepresented backgrounds and hosted impactful programs at the St. Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum.
    • Member Engagement: The Chapter, through its membership committee, organized three successful "Thirsty Thursday" networking events, hosted a "Roadmap to Success as a Corporate Attorney" panel, and provided opportunities for members to connect with colleagues at the Annual Corporate Counsel Institute and other events.  In addition, the Chapter hosted a memorable, family friendly membership appreciation event at Grant's Farm.
    • Leadership Development: The Chapter invested in its future leaders by increasing the number of Board members it sponsored to attend the ACC Leadership Development Institute and the ACC Annual Meeting, where attendees expanded their knowledge of the organization and obtained ideas on how to improve the Chapter.
  • Community Impact: The Chapter supported Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and partnered with Washington University's Olin School of Business to provide valuable professional development opportunities for members and law students.
  • Recognition and Awards: The Chapter received the ACC Global 2024 Best Diversity Initiative Program award and was one of only seven Chapters globally recognized as a Gold-Level Chapter of Distinction.
