STEM City Baltimore Receives $100,000 Maryland Grant to Bring AI and Metaverse Training to Youth
eTradeWire News/10802512
Initiative Aligns with National AI Education Priorities and the Vision of Local Leadership
BALTIMORE - eTradeWire -- STEM City Baltimore has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the State of Maryland to provide cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and metaverse training for youth. This initiative aligns with President Trump's Executive Orderemphasizing the importance of expanding AI education across the nation's schools and preparing young Americans for the jobs of the future.
The funding will allow STEM City Baltimore to expand its hands-on, immersive training programs that combine AI, virtual reality, and blockchain concepts in a safe and inclusive metaverse learning environment. The program will focus on equipping students with critical digital literacy skills and preparing them for careers in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
"This grant is a major step forward in bridging the digital divide," said Tyrone Taborn, Founder of STEM City USA and longtime advocate for tech equity. "We are entering an era the world hasn't seen before — one driven by AI and immersive technology. It is imperative that our youth, especially from underserved communities, are not left behind. This training is not just about workforce readiness; it's about empowerment, inclusion, and ownership in the digital future."

"Our youth deserve every opportunity to thrive in tomorrow's economy," said Senator McCray. "By investing in their education today, we are creating a future workforce that is innovative, competitive, and reflective of the diversity that makes Maryland strong."
This initiative will launch in partnership with local schools, community centers, and civic organizations, ensuring access to AI and metaverse learning opportunities for students across Baltimore.
