St. Louis Story Stitchers Offers YOP Tax Credits to Support Innovative Youth Opportunities

eTradeWire News/10655379

Story Stitchers erase real and perceived divisions through cultural exploration and arts practice — by stitching together our city.

Saint Louis Story Stitchers has Missouri State Tax Credits available!

Through the Youth Opportunities Program (YOP), Missouri Department of Economic Development, Missouri state tax credits are available for monetary donations made to Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective.

Donors would be eligible for a 50% Missouri state tax credit claimable against their Missouri state tax liability, however, there is a $500 minimum donation.  For example, if you donate $1,000 you can claim a $500 credit off your Missouri state income tax and control where your tax dollars go!

Donations are greatly appreciated and support Story Stitchers youth programs. Please contact Susan Colangelo, Executive Director, at susanc@storystitchers.org to learn more.
  • Individuals and businesses may donate cash gifts through check or stock.
  • The project period is June 1, 2021-May 31, 2023.
  • Donations must clear your bank by December 31st for tax credits this year.
  • Donor is required to submit tax credit applications, on a form created by DED and available on its website, to DED within one calendar year of the date of contribution or the donor waives any right to receive YOP tax credits for the contribution.
  • Once the donor's tax credit application is approved by the DED, the donor has the tax year the donation was made plus 5 succeeding tax years to use the credit on their tax return.
  • Maximum amount of YOP tax credits per donor per tax year is $200,000.
  • Story Stitchers has approximately $42,409 of tax credits available this year and next or until $84,818 is raised.
