CLC has created "Hubs" in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (primarily Title 1 schools), providing free everyday essentials to underserved students. Currently, Hubs are located in Sterling and Hidden Valley elementary schools, and they are working to expand the program. Almost 100% of students at both schools live at the poverty level. Hidden Valley has the highest number of homeless students in N.C. These "Hubs" offer a place to store uniforms, new clothing, hygiene items, educational supplies, books, backpacks and more, and provide a regular presence and help to the principals, teachers, staff, and children.
