Silverwork Studios Announces "Rejewel": Upcycling Pre-Loved Donated Jewelry to Benefit MarinArts
eTradeWire News/10767680
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - eTradeWire -- Silverwork Studios, a make-your-own jewelry workshop studio in San Rafael's Northgate Mall, is thrilled to announce "ReJewel", a new fundraising initiative to reimagine previously loved jewelry to benefit Marin Arts, the non-profit supporting the arts and artists in Marin. In the spirit of Earth Day, ReJewel launches today as a way to upcycle and give new life to pre-loved pieces of jewelry donated by the community.
Silverwork Studios will accept donations of both fine and costume jewelry for "rejeweling" beginning in May. The donated jewelry will be reimagined by the Silverwork staff and extended team of budding jewelry designers including local students, volunteers and the studio's own makers. A collection of fabulous rejeweled pieces will be offered for resale at a fundraising gala to benefit MarinArts later this year.
"We are so excited about the ReJewel program and the promise it holds for creating totally unique new pieces that people will want to wear, training the next generation of designers, and supporting the MarinArts organization that champions the entire art community in Marin," said Kel Konis, Co-Founder of Silverwork Studios. "We think it's a win-win-win idea and will be loads of fun for everyone involved!"
