Scott Burton Releases Chaos: A Study of Shadows - A Powerful Look at Emotional Survival and the Silence That Follows
eTradeWire News/10806520
In the second volume, Scott Burton explores the quiet aftermath of survival. A Study of Shadows is a raw, lyrical look at what it means to keep going when nothing feels real & how we learn to live with the parts of ourselves we once tried to silence.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - eTradeWire -- Scott Burton is releasing the 2nd volume of the Chaos Series on June 13th. Chaos: A Study of Shadows, the second book explores the invisible aftermaths of emotional survival. Where Volume 1 introduced the inner landscapes of being human, Volume 2 lingers in the places people often retreat to when connection frays and language fails.
Through a mix of poetic entries and introspective observations, Burton gives voice to what goes unspoken: the numbness after grief, the distance between people who once felt close, and the slow unraveling of self in the name of strength. The book doesn't seek redemption in light—it asks what happens when we finally sit with the dark.

Burton, a two-time kidney transplant recipient, brings personal insight into the realities of survival, but his work extends beyond his story. A Study of Shadows speaks to anyone who's ever gone quiet to stay safe, who's ever felt invisible in a room full of people, or who's still learning to trust their own voice.
"Maybe the goal isn't to fill the hollow,
but to live alongside it."
— Chaos: Volume 2, Chapter 49
This second volume expands the Chaos series' reach, tackling themes like dissociation, emotional withdrawal, mental health, and what it means to be present while feeling absent. Each piece offers a mirror to the reader—not with answers, but with recognition.
Chaos: A Study of Shadows will be available in paperback and Kindle formats via Amazon on June 13, 2025.
Burton shares excerpts and reflections on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ksbleedsink) & Instagram @ks.bleeds.ink where he continues to connect with readers drawn to the raw, reflective style of the Chaos series.
