Scarecrow Fest offers fall-themed activities at Frankenmuth River Place Shops

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - eTradeWire -- Celebrate autumn with two family-fun weekends of Scarecrow Fest at Frankenmuth River Place Shops in October.
Scarecrow Fest takes place from 12 noon to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20 and October 26 and 27 at Frankenmuth River Place Shops, 925 S. Main Street in Frankenmuth. Activities include pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, arts and crafts, barrel train rides and the always-popular pumpkin launcher along with free family entertainment for each weekend. Some activities require a small fee – the event is free to attend. Fully celebrate the season with doughnuts and apple cider available for purchase.
The First weekend of Scarecrow Fest, on October 19-20 will include free entertainment from the Rock N Roll K9 team featuring tricks, relay racing, choreographed obedience routines and agility contests. Performances are on Saturday the 19th at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm & Sunday the 20th at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm.

On Sunday, October 20, the Doggie Costume Contest is at 4:30 pm on the Fest Platz Stage. Following the costume contest, there is a doggie pet trick-or-treating throughout the complex from 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Pre-registration is required for the contest from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Hello Cats and Dogs located at River Place Shops
The fun will continue the following weekend on October 26 and 27 for more free family entertainment. A Children's Trick or Treating will be held on Sunday, October 27 throughout the complex from 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm starting at the Fest Platz – kids will be able to trick-or-treat from each store. Additional activities occurring on both days will include Halloween-themed music, yard games, arts and crafts, and a free magician performance by Jonathon LaChance.
