Seafood purveyor's family-friendly event helps four-legged friends find a forever home.
BLUFFTON, S.C. - eTradeWire -- Russo's Fresh Seafood Bluffton's all-you-can-eat oyster roast was more than just a delicious success, it was a community-driven event with heart. Hundreds of seafood lovers gathered, filling the air with the aroma of fresh oysters and the sound of laughter, all while raising $1,500 for Palmetto Animal League (PAL). This generous donation will directly support PAL's mission of rescuing animals in need, giving them a second chance at finding loving forever homes.
"The shucking stopped, but the support has not! We were overwhelmed by the incredible turnout at our oyster roast, with over 200 guests attending," said Charles J. Russo III, owner of Russo's Fresh Seafood Bluffton and a third-generation fishmonger. "Giving back to the community is ingrained in our family values, and witnessing the community rally behind this cause, especially seeing families enjoying the event together, truly warmed our hearts. We encourage everyone to continue supporting PAL's vital work and join us for more community events in the future."

The festivities unfolded at Russo's Fresh Seafood Bluffton, where guests indulged in an all-you-can-eat feast of perfectly roasted oysters. Live music by the Eric Culberson Band kept the atmosphere lively while a Great White Shark Bounce House entertained the little ones. Even furry friends enjoyed the fun with treats and "swag" from Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming.
PAL brought adoptable dogs to the event, hoping to find them loving forever homes. "We are very grateful for this event and the money raised. It will go a long way to help keep our animals safe, healthy and ready to find their forever home. We cannot thank Russo's Fresh Seafood Bluffton enough for their support," said Palmetto Animal League Marketing Coordinator Lindsay Perry.
The money raised will directly benefit PAL, providing essential resources like food, shelter and medical care for the animals in their care. Amy Campanini, PAL's President, expressed her gratitude: "This generous donation from Russo's will make a real difference in the lives of so many animals. It helps us continue our mission of finding loving homes for every pet who needs one."
Looking forward to 2025 already, Charles added, "We cannot wait to do it all again next year. Seeing the smiles on people's faces, the happy furry friends, and knowing we are making a difference for PAL - that's what it's all about."
