Rock Star Wes Geer Shares Journey from Addiction to Recovery in January MASTERS by Winn Claybaugh
eTradeWire News/10603278
Wesley Geer overcame a near-fatal addiction before joining the legendary rock band, Korn. Interviewed by Winn Claybaugh, Wes reveals the story of "sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll" that led to his addiction, recovery, and commitment to help others.
SANDY, Utah - eTradeWire -- Wesley Geer is a professional guitar player, songwriter, recording artist, and producer who signed his first record deal with Jive Records with the band he founded, Hed PE. Wes toured the world for nearly a decade, the band sold over 1 million records, and their music was featured on MTV, radio, feature films, TV, and video games.
Unbeknownst to most people, Wes was a full-blown drug addict at the time. He finally stepped back in 2003 for a "lifestyle change" that landed him in rehab, where he learned the tools for recovery and heard stories of others who had overcome addiction.
The following years found Wes teaching music to sixth through twelfth graders at Fusion Academy and Learning Center, where his love of teaching blossomed as he saw students transformed with hope and self-esteem.

In 2012, wanting to provide the healing experience of connectivity through music for people in treatment and recovery programs, Wes founded the nonprofit Rock to Recovery.
