Registration Opens for Pulse CPSEA 2022 Symposium "TakeCHARGE: 5 Steps to Safer Healthcare — Communication is Key"

7th Pulse CPSEA Symposium kicks off patient safety public awareness campaign.
WANTAGH, N.Y. - eTradeWire -- Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its upcoming Symposium and kickoff for the 2022 TakeCHARGE Campaign.
From small beginnings at Pulse, TakeCHARGE has grown into an online movement with partner organizations from coast to coast, using the Web and social media to inform people in all walks of life about taking some responsibility for their own safety when getting medical care.
According to Pulse CPSEA president Ilene Corina, BCPA, "Medical error is a leading cause of death and injury. Before COVID, Pulse held regular annual symposia bringing together leaders in the patient safety movement with community organizations and interested individuals. This year we are hosting a larger, all-virtual (both computer and mobile devices) event that also serves as the launch of the 2022 TakeCHARGE Campaign season, when we encourage everyone to take five basic steps that will help ensure the best outcomes from medical care."
The campaign's "5 Steps" are:
Corina adds, "We urge everyone to register for the Symposium, where there will be presentations by patient safety experts, patient advocates, and those with experience as patients, as well as opportunities for networking and visiting our sponsors."

The Symposium is approved for 10 CEUs by the Patient Advocate Certification Board to satisfy the requirements for Board Certified Patient Advocates.

- Understand and Complete Your Advance Directives
- Keep a Record of Your Medical History and Current Medications
- Prepare for Doctor Visits/Make a List of Questions
- Prevent Infections/Ask Caregivers to Wash Their Hands
- Use an Advocate/Be an Advocate for Others
