Regional Housing Strategy Applauded

eTradeWire News/10530482
SYDNEY - eTradeWire -- The recent Regional Housing Strategy announced by the Minister for Housing Linda Pavey is a good first step says Central Western Energy CEO, Richard Hayes. Speaking after a recent meeting to confirm the planning principles on the new estate at Corang in the Canberra hinterland, Mr Hayes applauded the government's commitment to increase
affordable housing stock for those doing it tough in rural and regional NSW.

"We are working with state and local authorities to build a world-class environmentally
friendly urban precinct in regional NSW. It will bring jobs to the local area and boost the
housing stock for those looking for a smaller footprint and a more sustainable lifestyle" Mr
Hayes said.

"When government and industry work together to boost infrastructure in the regions, it can have a flow-on effect for the whole community. Whilst a development of this size and scope in the city would be lost, the impact on the community of a development such as at Corang can have a much greater impact."
