The Wandering Jew of St. Salacious by Ron Turker Releases on September 17, 2024 to Audiobook Platforms Everywhere.
PORTLAND, Ore. - eTradeWire -- The debut novel by Ron Turker M.D., THE WANDERING JEW OF ST. SALACIOUS, will release in author-narrated audiobook on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 6Dog Press. A former pediatric surgeon, Turker penned the story to shine an insider's spotlight on the ills of the United States' healthcare system -- a biting message wrapped in a humorous capsule that makes it easy to swallow while offering a tasty glimpse of hope.
"We are all the once and future patient," says Turker. "Vanishingly few will be lucky enough to never need healthcare. Why then would we purposely withhold care, or bankrupt those who sought us out? We can and should do better. So much better."
First published in the Spring of 2023 as Turker's first foray into fiction writing, The Wandering Jew of St. Salacious has garnered an impressive 4.9 overall Amazon rating amongst readers.
Since graduating residency in 1992, Turker has devoted himself to those who have less. From the Navajo reservation to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, Turker has reaped the rich rewards of giving back. To return the gift of training to those who might otherwise go untreated. Most recently, he's had the privilege of caring for Syrian refugee children and children in Ukraine. He lives with his wife and two dogs in Portland and is currently working on his second novel.

SYNOPSIS:
What happens when you drop an agnostic Jewish surgeon in a century-old Catholic hospital, where the doctor meets dogma and falls for the CEO? A nun, for God's sake.
Dr. Martin Fischer, a white-coated Quixote, tilts his scalpel at the bloated underbelly of U.S. healthcare and fights for his patients. His only weapons are surgical skill and a pesky sense of righteous indignation that's driving everyone nuts—including Marty.
As he takes on a callous multi-billion-dollar medical corporation, a mercenary surgical group, and the thoroughly corrupt CFO of St. Salacious, an unplanned pregnancy threatens to excommunicate the entire hospital. Can they really do that? It's either stress or God who intervenes. Did Jesus just wink at him from the cross?
The Wandering Jew of St. Salacious will be available in audiobook on all podcast platforms, in addition to print and e-book formats through Amazon and all book retailers. For information about Ron Turker, please visit his website at www.ronturker.com to learn more.
