Partners Host Community Event on Climate Resilience and Energy Burden
MINNEAPOLIS - eTradeWire -- Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI), in partnership with FORTIFY (Hennepin County), is proud to announce a community engagement and education event focused on climate resilience and reducing household energy burden. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Lutunji's Palate in Minneapolis (1400 Park Ave South).
The gathering will bring together residents, community leaders, and partners for a conversation about the challenges of energy burden—when families spend a disproportionate share of their income on energy costs—and the opportunities to build community-based climate adaptation strategies that make neighborhoods stronger, healthier, and more equitable.
Event Details:
"Climate change is not just an environmental issue, it's a justice issue," said Dr. Artika Tyner, PPGJLI Executive Director. "By engaging our community in meaningful conversations and sharing educational tools about energy use, costs, and climate adaptation, we can create solutions that uplift those most impacted. This is essential for building a more just and inclusive society."
