Price's legal leadership is rooted in lived experience. As a survivor of sexual assault and the foster care system, Price refuses to be silenced. She took on her alma mater Yale University to protect other young women who had been sexually assaulted, helping pave the way for the Title IX protections that safeguard millions of students today. Her courage in that fight shaped a lifelong commitment to justice, fairness, and accountability at all costs.

In 2023, Pamela Price became the first African American District Attorney in Alameda County history, bringing long-overdue transparency, expanded victim services, and accountability to institutions that had never been held to account.

Her reforms challenged entrenched systems — and powerful interests fought back. Supporters argue that the recall campaign was fueled by "Trumped-up charges" designed to undermine the will of the voters and reverse progress. Price is now making history again as the first DA in county history to fight to reclaim her elected office after a recall.
