eTradeWire News/10834434
MONCTON, New Brunswick - eTradeWire -- Oulton College officially opened its expanded Elmwood Health Campus today, a significant milestone in strengthening New Brunswick's healthcare workforce capacity.
The $3 million expansion establishes Elmwood as a dedicated Health Sciences campus, featuring state-of-the-art simulation labs, modern clinical training spaces, and expanded capacity to train over 500 nursing students, including the addition of 300 new student seats.
Government representatives, healthcare partners, students, and community leaders gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours of the new facilities.
"We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of the expanded Elmwood Health Campus and how it will expand and enhance the ability to train nurses and paramedics right here in New Brunswick," said Health Minister John Dornan. "We know when health professionals train here, it increases the likelihood of them staying here to practice and build their lives in the province. We respect and appreciate our health professionals and eagerly invite and welcome graduates to build careers as part of New Brunswick's health and long-term care workforce to provide the care that New Brunswickers need, now and into the future."

"The expansion of the Elmwood Health Campus creates opportunities for more students to pursue their passions through world-class post-secondary education right here at home, while strengthening our health workforce with highly-skilled professionals upon their graduation."
"This is an exciting step forward for healthcare education in our community," says Moncton Deputy Mayor Paulette Thériault. "Oulton College provides a critical service and we are proud of their success and the opportunities they provide to train healthcare professionals. We look forward to welcoming these new students to Moncton."
"This campus represents our long-standing commitment to supporting the health of New Brunswickers," said Darcie Reidpath, President of Oulton College.
