July camps designed to help kids gain focus, discipline, and self-defense
KIRKLAND, Wash. - eTradeWire -- Kirkland, WA - Oom Yung Doe, one of Kirkland's longest-standing martial arts schools, has announced its 2025 Youth Summer Camps. These camps are designed to help local kids and teens build confidence, discipline, and real-world self-defense skills during the summer break.
These are not just typical camps. Change to: The programs are focused on giving kids and teens the tools they need to face modern challenges, from school pressures to bullying, building strength and focus.
Two age-specific camps are now open for registration:
Kids Camp (Ages 5 to 9) - July 28th – Aug 1st
Kids will train in traditional movements from Kong Su (Tae Kwon Do/Karate), Judo, and Kung Fu. These practices help children develop strength, balance, and body awareness while learning essential safety skills through the Three R's of Safety: Recognize, Resist, and Report.

Junior Camp (Ages 10 to 14) - July 7th – 11th
An immersive experience in multiple martial arts styles including Kong Su, Kung Fu, Judo, and Samurai Sword (bamboo sword). Students will train in techniques that build mental focus, discipline, and physical confidence. The camp is designed to prepare them for the next school year and real-world challenges.
Parents are already seeing the impact.
"My son started training one month ago, and already we've seen a big improvement in his focus at school and his attitude at home," said local parent Karen M.
Oom Yung Doe's camps are more than martial arts. They help kids and teens step into the next school year stronger, more focused, and more confident. Spots are limited. Early registration is encouraged.
