eTradeWire News/10801096
NAPLES, Fla. - eTradeWire -- Old Vines Naples at Mercato has been recognized as a finalist in two top wine list categories for the inaugural "Star Wine List of the Year Florida," a prestigious competition honoring the most exciting wine lists across the state.
The international wine guide, Star Wine List, named Old Vines in the "Best Short List" category, which acknowledges wine lists containing fewer than 200 listings, and the "Best By The Glass List" category. Old Vines is among several renowned dining establishments from throughout the state that are competing for the distinguished title of having Florida's most exceptional wine lists. The only representative from Naples, Wine Director, Zach Bingham and the Old Vines team will travel to Miami on May 8 to attend the Florida awards ceremony.
"What an incredible honor and testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone on our team," said Brooke Kravetz, chef-partner of Old Vines Naples at Mercato. "To be listed alongside some of the most award-winning restaurants in the state is significant, and we are thrilled to represent Naples at the upcoming competition."
Old Vines Naples at Mercato focuses on lesser-known varietals from family-run vineyards and small producers worldwide, offering exceptional value compared to mass-market alternatives.

"Our wine list is centered around heritage and intentionality. The world of wine is changing, and we want to celebrate that dynamic while showcasing a diverse and unique selection that aligns with the ethos of sustainability in our restaurant," said Bingham. "In our By-The-Glass program, we want to provide an opportunity for guests to embark on a journey of discovery around the wide world of wine, noting new friends as well as familiar faces along the way. Our Cellar Program enhances and expands upon that approach in a playful yet educational way."
The Star Wine List of the Year Florida judging panel is comprised of four highly esteemed wine experts. They include Salvatore Castano, named Best Sommelier of Europe and Africa in 2021; Master Sommelier and Master of Wine, Doug Frost; Master Sommelier Kathrine Larsen-Robert, the European head of wine at 67 Pall Mall; and Pascaline Lepeltier, named Best Sommelier of France in 2018.
