Norma Jean Wright Releases Second Single, "Jumpstreet" Featuring Brian Jackson on Remix

NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- Norma Jean Wright is back with the release of her latest single, "Jumpstreet," the second track from her current EP, Living and Loving Life. The upbeat song, filled with vibrant energy and catchy melodies, now has several remixes produced by Bert Price and features legendary composer, pianist, and flautist Brian Jackson. Known for his work with Gil Scott-Heron, Jackson infuses a unique jazz element into the remix, adding a dynamic new layer to the original. There is also an extended mix by Alex Di Ciò. These new mixes titled "Jazz It Up", and others, will be available on all digital platforms by October 31, 2024.
Brian Jackson's musical legacy spans over five decades. As half of the iconic duo Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson, he co-wrote, arranged, and produced more than 10 albums during their eight-year collaboration. Their work has left an indelible mark on music, inspiring artists across generations, with their tracks sampled by the likes of Common, Kendrick Lamar, and Tupac Shakur. Jackson's influence continues to resonate, as he collaborates with contemporary artists such as Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. His upcoming BBE album, scheduled for summer 2025, promises legendary collaborations with Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, and other surprise guests.

Reflecting on his approach to music, Jackson says, "This music isn't really mine. I learned it from those who came before me. It's my job to pass on what I've learned. That's the Tradition."
Norma Jean Wright is an award-winning singer and songwriter whose career began with Chic in the late 1970s. Known for her soulful vocals and significant contributions to disco, pop and R&B music, she has continued to influence the industry through her solo work and collaborations. She made her mark as the original lead singer of Chic, the band behind timeless hits like "Everybody Dance", "Le Freak" and "Good Times." She also enjoyed solo success with her hit single "Saturday" and continues to shine as a member of the First Ladies of Disco, performing alongside Martha Wash and Linda Clifford. Norma also performs with Luci Martin as (Former Lead Vocalists of Chic), and she is also recognized for her songwriting talents, including her co-writing credit on Keni Burke's classic R&B hit "Rising To The Top."
