eTradeWire News/10577122
NMC offers handicapped parking signage compliance solutions that meet Accessible Parking Requirement for TDLR Administrative Rule (§68.104.) (Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation).

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. - eTradeWire -- Effective for projects registered with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR), on or after August 1, 2020, a new Accessible Parking Requirement is in effect. This is TDLR Administrative Rule (§68.104.) for accessible parking spaces.

While the building or facility owner has the discretion to determine contrast, font types, and size and color of the ISA symbol to be utilized, the new Accessible Parking Sign sign does have mandatory wording and a required font size for a portion of the message. In addition, min/max sign placement heights must be no lower than 4-ft and no higher than 6-ft above the ground. Sign may be mounted on a pole, post, wall or freestanding board.

Additionally, wording (placed by stencil application) should appear, centered, in the access aisle to say "NO PARKING". The words "NO" and "PARKING" are required to be sized at 12" minimum height, with a 2" minimum stroke width.

To make compliance easy, National Marker Company offers a stock version of the Reserved Parking sign that meets TDLR standards in Texas made on .080" Reflective Aluminum. Other material thicknesses and reflective intensity levels are available.
