Much-loved Christmas Candlelighting Celebrations On Their Way to Delray Beach

eTradeWire News/10505002
Four annual Christmas Candlelighting services at Unity of Delray Beach Church, 101 N.W. 22nd Street at Swinton Avenue, are being held this month. Included in the celebration is a brief talk by Senior Minister Greg Barrette, along with special music.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Dec. 6, 2018 - eTradeWire -- The first Candlelighting service is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, accommodating those out of town at Christmas or who prefer an earlier date. The other three  services are on Christmas Eve, at 6, 8, and 11 p.m. We ask that the 11 p.m. service include only adults. Child care is available for the 6 and 8 p.m. services.

Performances of traditional carols and Christmas music by soprano, tenor, and alto soloists will be accompanied by bass, flute, cello, violin, viola and keyboards. There are also carols sung by all.  A wondrous lighting of candles by attendees completes the evening.

"The simple acts of lighting a candle and singing a song can be a powerful reminder of the inner light and music that unites all of humankind." said Barrette.  "The magical music and light of Christmas all began with the miraculous angel choir that sang to the shepherds as they watched the light-filled stars above them."

The Candlelighting services are among the best-loved holiday celebrations at Unity of Delray Beach, drawing visitors of all faiths and local residents. There is no admission charge to these events; a free-will love offering will be collected. We suggest early arrival for best seating.
