Raise $100,000 for families East of the Anacostia River in the Nation's Capital

WASHINGTON - Aug. 17, 2018 - eTradeWire -- Mothers of Professional Basketball Players, Inc. (MPBP, Inc.) Head to the Nation's Capital for their 2018 National Conference, Thursday, August 23rd – Sunday, August 26th.  MPBP, Inc. who's mission is to support the various communities where their sons and daughters live, work and play; will partake in various activities during their time in the Washington DC.

The Mothers expect to leave a huge imprint on the District of Columbia with a planned National Service Project execution on Friday, August 24th, The Ladies have raised One-Hundred Thousand dollars ($100,000.00) of which they will disperse to five hundred (500) selected families with the assistance of the Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative; at the disbursement site of Allen Temple AME Church, 2498 Alabama Ave. SE.

The Honorable Mayor Muriel Bowser; PEPCO-Regional President, Donna Cooper; Washington Gas, Manager Corporate Contributions & Supplier Diversity, Tracye Funn; and District of Columbia Water & Sewer Authority, Chief of External Affairs, John Lisle; will be on hand to present these families with utility payments of Two-Hundred dollars ($200.00) per family.

While in the District MPBP, Inc. members will participate in several workshops and sightseeing throughout the course of the conference.    A few Moms will be joined by their Sons on the afternoon of Saturday, August 25th for the Annual Mother & Son Fashion Show fundraising event; limited seats are currently available for the public.  Visit: for ticket information.
