National Sports Crisis Sparks Launch of Peak Play, A First-of-Its-Kind Parent Advocacy Network
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - eTradeWire -- Peak Play Launches National Parent-Advocacy Platform and I Believe Methodology™ to Address Rising Emotional & Safety Concerns in Youth and Collegiate Sports
Hickory, NC — December 2025. Peak Play, a new national advocacy and education platform for sports parents, today announced its official launch along with the introduction of the I Believe Methodology™, a groundbreaking parent-leadership system designed to improve athlete well-being, emotional safety, and family support across youth and collegiate athletics.
The launch comes at a time when athlete burnout, mental health struggles, and toxic sports environments are increasingly surfacing nationwide. Parents are reporting confusion, lack of support, and a growing pressure culture impacting both athletes and families.
Peak Play was created in response to these rising concerns — and born from a real-life event that shook founder Tammy Appleton into action. Her son, a collegiate basketball player, called her after a dangerous punishment workout that resulted in a teammate being hospitalized for Rhabdomyolysis.
"That phone call changed everything," Appleton says. "It made me realize how unprepared parents are, how unsafe certain environments can be, and how urgently families need tools for protection, communication, and emotional support."
